AJA Governance

Executive Board

The Executive Board is comprised of the officers of the Organization and floor members who add value to the Board through their expertise and experience. The Board is responsible for overall policy and direction of the Organization.

Administrative Committee

The administrative officers of the Organization comprise the Administrative Committee, which is responsible for carrying out the effective, efficient, day-to-day running of the Organization.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council may recommend service projects for consideration and will provide the Executive Board with their best counsel to undertake proposed initiatives that support the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church on the ground in Jamaica.


The Advisory Council is comprised of:

  • One officer of each SDA organization and institution of the Jamaica Union Conference (JAMU) and each local conference within JAMU (as designated by their respective organizations and institutions), and the ADRA Jamaica Director
  • Up to three retired (or seasoned) and up to three young adult Jamaican SDA workers (not restricted to pastoral ministry) living abroad, as appointed by the Executive Board


Advisory Council members support and advocate for the agreed-upon, final overall plans of AJA, and not exclusively for the interest of any particular SDA entity or interest in Jamaica.
